AFS description:   ‘Huet's Smithsoniet’- No. 8340 (Braam 2014) Double. Upright/trailer. COROLLA: three quarter flared, turned up petal margins, square shape; opens violet (84A) blotched magenta (63B); matures light reddish purple (73A); 30mm (1 3/16") long x 30mm (1 3/16") wide. PETALOIDS: magenta (63B); 10mm (3/8”) long x 5mm (3/16”) wide. SEPALS are horizontal, tips recurved; rose (63C) tipped yellow upper surface; magenta (63B) tipped yellow lower surface; 40mm (1 9/16") long x 15mm (9/16") wide. TUBE is light pink (38D); medium length & thickness; 15mm (9/16”) long x 8mm (5/16") wide. STAMENS extend 20mm (3/4”) beyond the corolla; violet (75A) filaments; light reddish purple (66C)  anthers. PISTIL extends 30mm (1 3/16”) beyond the corolla; magenta (68A) style; very pale orange (159B) stigma. BUD is globular. FOLIAGE is medium green (147B) upper surface; light olive green (147C) lower surface. Leaves are 70mm (2 3/4”) long x 30mm (1 3/16”) wide, elliptic shaped, wavy edges, acute tips, obtuse bases. Veins are medium green (147B), stems are yellowish green (146C), branches are yellowish green (146B). PARENTAGE: [(‘Janna Rodenhof’ x ‘Huet’s Ametrien’) x (‘Naaldwijk 800’ x ‘Lord Lonsdale’)] x [(‘Kaleidoscope’ x ‘Lavaglut’) x ‘Quasar’]. Lax upright or stiff trailer. Self branching.
