2005) Double. Upright/Trailer. COROLLA is three quarter flared with turned
under smooth petal margins; opens light reddish purple (73A), light rose
(73C) base, edged reddish purple (74B); matures light purple (74C), light
rose (73C) base; 20mm (13/16”) long x 20mm (13/16”) wide. SEPALS are half
down, tips recurved; rose (52B) upper surface; dark rose (58C) lower
surface; 25mm (1”) long x 12mm (1/2”) wide. TUBE is rose (52C); short &
thick; 6mm (1/4”) long x 6mm (1/4”) wide. STAMENS extend 11mm (7/16”)
beyond the corolla; magenta (57B) filaments; dark rose (71D) anthers.
PISTIL extends 19mm (3/4”) below the corolla; light pink (62B) style; pale
yellow (1D) stigma. BUD is bulbous. FOLIAGE: dark green (139A) upper
surface; medium green (138B) lower surface. Leaves are 67mm (2 5/8”) long
x 27mm (1 1/16”) wide, lanceolate shaped, serrated edges, acute tips and
rounded bases. Veins are light red purple (185D); stems are plum (184C);
branches are plum (185C). PARENTAGE: (‘WALZ Triangel’ x ‘Lye’s Excelsior’)
x (‘WALZ Harp’ x ‘Quasar’). Lax upright or stiff trailer. Self branching.
Makes good upright or standard. Prefers full sun, warm climate. Best bloom
& foliage color in filtered light. Tested three years in Doetinchem, The
Netherlands. Meise 8-14-04. Distinguished by unique color. |
