2006) Single. Upright. COROLLA is quarter flared with turned under, wavy
petal margins; opens reddish purple (71B), magenta (68A) base, dark
reddish purple (72A) edge; matures dark reddish purple (72A), rose (65A)
base; 20mm (3/4") long x 17mm (5/8") wide. SEPALS are horizontal, tips
recurved; pale lavender (69B) upper surface, white (155B) base, tipped
light yellow green (150B); light pink (65B) lower surface, white (155B)
base, tipped light yellow green (150B); 24mm (15/16") long x 9mm (5/16")
wide. TUBE is pale lavender (69B), white base (155B); medium length and
thickness; 18mm (11/16") long x 6mm (1/4") wide. STAMENS extend 9mm
(5/16") beyond the corolla; magenta (57C) filaments; purple (79D) anthers.
PISTIL extends 28mm (1 1/8") beyond the corolla; pale pink (63D) style;
purple (77A) stigma. BUD is globular. FOLIAGE is dark green (136B) upper
surface; medium green (138B) lower surface. Leaves are 81mm(3 1/4") long x
44mm (1 3/4") wide, ovate shaped, serrate edges, acute tips, rounded
bases. Veins are light grayish red (181D) and medium green (138A),
stems are light grayish red (182D) and light green (138C),
branches are light red purple (185D) and light green (138C).
PARENTAGE: 'Checkerboard' x 'Ghislaine'. Tall upright, self branching.
Makes good upright or standard. Prefers full sun, cool climate. Best
bloom and foliage in bright light. Tested 6 years in Doetinchem, The
Netherlands. Meise 8/13/05. Distinguished by bloom color. |
