AFS description:   ‘Huet’s Ekster’ – No 8485 (Braam 2015) Double/Semi-double. Upright. COROLLA: quarter flared, square shaped, wavy petal margins; opens magenta (63A), light reddish purple (73A) flames; matures magenta (63B); 30mm (1 3/16") long x 20mm (3/4") wide. SEPALS are horizontal, tips recurved; light pink (62C) striped white upper surface; pink (62B) tipped white lower surface; 25mm (1") long x 15mm (9/16") wide. TUBE is pale pink (62D); long, medium thickness; 30 mm (1 3/16") long x 5mm (3/16") wide. STAMENS extend 30mm (1 3/16”) beyond the corolla; magenta (58B) filaments; reddish purple (58A) anthers. PISTIL extends 30mm (1 3/16”) beyond the corolla; rose (63C) style; white (155B) stigma. BUD is globular, longish. FOLIAGE is dark green (137A) upper surface; medium green (137B) lower surface. Leaves are 55mm (2 3/16”) long x 30mm (1 3/16”) wide, ovate shaped, wavy edges, acute tips, obtuse bases. Veins, stems & branches are green. PARENTAGE: ‘Huet’s Alexandriet’ x ‘Kwintet’. Tall upright. Self branching. Makes good upright, standard or pyramid. Prefers full sun, warm climate. Best bloom & foliage color in bright light. Tested 3 years in Doetinchem, The Netherlands.
